Tom joined Clearstead Private Client Group in 2023. As a Managing Director of Trusts and Estates, Tom works with private family trust companies, family offices, and individual trustees. He has over 20 years in public accounting most recently with a national accounting firm, where he led the Ohio private client group serving high-net-worth families, trusts, and financial institutions in various service areas including tax consulting and compliance, succession planning, and estate planning. Tom’s familiarity with the tax and reporting rules allows him to fully understand how planning techniques will ultimately impact clients from a cash flow perspective during implementation and ongoing maintenance.

Past notable engagements including serving as the head of a few family offices, leading the trust tax service offering for a region bank, and working with many clients on gift, estate, and generation-skipping transfer tax matters during various transition phases coordinating the trust administration and tax matters. Tom received a Bachelor of Business Administration in accounting from Ohio University where he went on to receive the young alumni of the year award from the school of accountancy.
