Cara joined Clearstead in 2023 as a Senior Managing Director in the Private Client Group.  She has more than 27 years of experience addressing the investment and wealth management needs of clients, including formation of investment policy, asset allocation decisions, and portfolio construction for high-net-worth families.

Prior to joining Clearstead, Cara spent 7 years with BNY Mellon Wealth Management as a Senior Wealth Manager where she managed portfolios for private clients and several large institutional clients.  Cara started her career at a small RIA in Athens Ohio while pursuing her undergraduate degree in finance and marketing at Ohio University. She spent several years in Atlanta, first as Regional Director with Invesco and then as an Investment Consultant with Wilmington Trust, before returning to her native Cleveland to join the Townsend Group as a Private Real Estate Consultant. Cara is a CFA Charterholder and an active member of the CFA Society of Cleveland, serving as the current Chair of the Women’s Advisory Committee. She also holds the Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst designation.
