Tom is Senior Managing Director of Research and responsible for evaluating and monitoring fixed income strategies, as well as supporting consultants with related inquiries. He conducts manager reviews, analyzes fund statistics, and forms investment recommendations that are integral parts of the due diligence process.  He also serves as a co-chair of the Clearstead Investment Committee and oversees the day-to-day operations of the Research team.

Tom has over 30 years of experience in the investment management business, with a focus on institutional fixed income management. Tom has an MBA from The University of Virginia’s Colgate Darden Graduate School of Business Administration and received a BS in Business Administration from the University of Denver with a major in Finance.

Prior to joining the firm in 2012, Tom was Chief Investment Officer for Fixed Income in the institutional investment management business of a major regional bank. Tom’s team of 30+ investment professionals was responsible for core fixed income, money market and tax-free portfolio management, and fixed income research. Tom has experience managing funds on behalf of pension funds, endowments and foundations, Taft-Hartley funds, insurance companies, and mutual funds.
