Senior Managing Director, Alternatives

Svetlana joined Clearstead in 2020 and is responsible for managing the firm’s alternative investments platform. Her primary responsibilities include sourcing, evaluating, selecting, and monitoring alternative investments, including private equity, venture, private credit, real estate, and hedge funds. In that capacity she works closely with consultants and clients, assisting them in design and implementation of the appropriate investment program that meets clients’ needs. 

Prior to joining Clearstead, Svetlana spent 19 years working in a single family office managing an institutional size global investment portfolio across all asset classes. She started her career as petroleum engineer and worked in a variety of industries including pharmaceuticals, commercial, and mortgage banking. Her broad international business experience brings depth and expertise to research and diligence of fund managers and underlying portfolio companies.     

Svetlana is a CFA charter holder. She earned her MBA from Southern Methodist University, being a recipient of the US AID fellowship. She received a BS in Petroleum Engineering and Economics summa cum laude from the Academy of Oil in Gas (Gubkin) in Moscow. She currently serves on the board’s Finance Committee of The Cleveland Racquet Club.
